Jack Round and Tom Lundahl will present the current status of the Papillion Cohousing and Urban Farm project.
Cohousing is an intentional community with the goal of creating an old-fashioned neighborhood where you know your neighbors. There are over 220 Cohousing Communities in the United States. For additional information, here is the national cohousing organization site: www.Cohousing.org.
The Papillion Cohousing & Urban Farm is to be located at a beautiful 14 acre location next to Papillion just south of 72nd and Cornhusker. There is plenty of space for long walks and letting the kids run! We are east of the Papio Bay Water Park and by Halleck Park. Adjacent to this location is a 5 acre farm which we plan to turn into an Urban Farm to provide food to the Community.
For this Community, we have envisioned a 30 unit Cohousing Community, a 20-30 unit Senior Cohousing Community, a Child Development Center, an Urban Farm, and a "Main Street" commercial zone. This will create a wonderful, diverse community with amenities, while still maintaining both the close community of cohousing and the natural beauty of the landscape.
